2011 Disc Golf Ace Race
The Race Is On! Come October 1st, disc golfers gather at the Canmore Nordic Centre for one purpose: to throw aces! No putting, no approaching... just runnin' at the chains. Last years event drew 125 players and was the 3rd largest Ace Race in the World in a field of over 200 events worldwide. This year, Canmore is poised to hold the largest event in the world. Festival of the Eagles
Become “enraptured” on October 15th! Join all levels of birdwatchers in this autumn celebration of the ancient migration of the golden eagle along the Canadian Rockies. Share in the spirit of the eagle, take part in guided hikes, or listen as interpreters explain this ancient phenomenon. Quilt Festival & Tea
On October 16th and 17th, The Quilt Festival and Tea celebrates the Mountain Cabin Quilters’ Guild of Canmore. The show features a merchant mall, quilt raffle, door prizes, and presentations of donations to local charities. For more info, contact the Sugar Pine Company at (403) 678-9603.

UFC 136 & 137: Edgar vs Maynard III and St-Pierre vs Condit
UFC 136 & UFC 137 will air Saturday October 8th and 29th, both at 7pm. As with all UFC events, the Bonjour Bistro at Windtower will be open and for a $20 door cover charge per person, you will get to watch the fights in HD, all-you-can-eat chicken wings, one pint of Big Rock Beer, and a chance to win UFC t-shirts and event posters. Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival
Bring mountain stories to life! The Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival brings you the world’s best mountain films and speakers.
